Vote for the new Club Captain
September 18th, 2013 // Team News // Richard Boydell
As captain of the past 2 seasons, Gouldy, is unable to commit to playing week in week out this season, we need to decide on a new Club Captain, lads.
So please cast your vote in the poll below (which is live for 1 week from today) and we’ll have the results ready for when we play in a couple of weeks time.
Whoever gets the second highest amounts will be vice-captain yadda yadda yadda…
Try not to vote for yourselves boys 😉

Vaders Sponsorship & Raffle
September 11th, 2013 // Team News // Richard Boydell
After a poor season in terms of player appearances and subs paid by those who did play, the Vaders are in need of some much needed funds for the up-keep of the team. Each game we play costs the club an average of £33, and we also have league and registration fees (£129 this year) which have been paid out of my own pocket for 2 seasons since we began and I have recently paid out an extra £146 of my personal cash for pitch fees from last season.
To avoid this happening again this season, I’m proposing to start a sponsorship scheme and a Vaders raffle.
Sponsorship
If any player can secure £50 or more sponsorship for the club for the coming season they will not need to pay subs for the rest of the season. For that, their sponsor will get an advert on our website, a link to their website and mentions on Facebook and Twitter from the club account. If any sponsors wish to sponsor a greater amount, there are opportunities to sponsor a new kit for the team which will feature their logo.
Raffle
Alternatively, you can sell raffle tickets for an Xmas draw. If you can sell £75 or more in raffle tickets your subs will also be waived. Any subs you will have paid before hand will be refunded to you or the amount you have sold, if under £75, will be deducted from your subs for the rest of the season.
The other option is to make sure you pay your subs every week or pay a chunk up front for say 5/10 games as I can’t afford to keep bailing the club out. If anyone has any other ideas about raising funds then I’m open to ideas. Please let me know which option appeals to you so I can get things in motion if it’s the raffle.
Finally, start having a think about an end of season tour and where you’d like to go etc.
