Matthew Evans

The Vaders have yet to fully realise ‘Evs’ potential as an important player for the team due to his inconsistent attendance to matches, and his inconsistent ‘state’ during his appearances. One for Saturday nights out (and a few other days), he hasn’t had a good run of games in 100% condition and his attitude and commitment have been found wanting on occasion.

Still, he has the ability and determination when fit and sober to be a key player for the Vaders and his skills may have been under-used during the first 2 seasons due to his partying. Mainly featured as a centre back or right back with some commanding displays, Evs would probably be more suited to a midfield role where his determination to win the ball and keep it would be of great help, but it has yet to materialise.

Skillful, with good passing, finishing and crossing ability, Evs should be providing and scoring more goals than his defensive position has allowed him. It also hasn’t helped that he has been outstanding on occasions in defence, commanding the air and the floor to equal measure (he has also made some shocking tackles). Currently injured, the Vaders will look forward to welcoming him back, whatever position he plays.
