Match stats:
So it was cup competition time with only a few league games played, and unfortunately for the Vaders they drew last years Premiership cup champions Litchard Park A.
This was always going to be a tough game, but with one or two players missing the team that has put in some good performances already this season was switched around slightly. Coach Rob Boydell got a rare opportunity to take up the left flank, with Rich Boydell switching to his preferred right hand side and Striker Ieuan Morris pushing back up front with Titch.
The game started very badly for the Vaders, with nobody talking at all, and within 3 minutes the Vaders were already 1-0 down. Following the re-start nothing really changed, with the Vaders not communicating, and when they were it was only to shout at each other for mistakes. Very quickly the Vaders were torn apart once more and a speculative effort from 25 yards saw Cookie make contact but only enough to slow the ball down before it beat him and ended up in the net.
The Vaders seemed to wake up a little after this, but this game had loss written all over it from that point on and the only clear efforts were from set pieces.
Half time was mainly spent arguing amongst each other, and trying to get Jammy to put his dummy back in following a stroppy end to the half. Nothing was going right….
Into the second half and The Vaders seemed the stronger team and pushed up in search of a goal. Still nothing happening..
Coach Rob Boydell made way for youngster Alex (Wyn Jones) Blacker on the left while Scott took up his usual wandering role all over the field. To add to his woes Scott played a poor back pass only for the Litchard attacker to run onto it and go around Cookie.
3-0 and things were to get worse.
Titch made way for Ieuan Evs, while Rich Boydell dropped into RB for Morgan Evs to push into Right wing. The Vaders continued to push for a consolation but this was probably the worst game in a while for the team, and to be fair they weren’t playing too badly, the difference in the time on the ball, possession and quick players all over the park was evident. Just before the end Litchard added to their tally with a fourth goal courtesy of some confusion between Scott and Cookie. So the Vaders Premiership cup run comes to a premature end this year but improvements will needed for next week when they meet the same team in the League – lets hope there’s not as many Hangovers as this weekend (Liam, Ieuan) There will also be a few members missing next Sunday as it’s C*ck of the Week’s birthday bash in Fos Las
Man of the Match: Richard Boydell
Cock of the Week: Scott Sainsbury
Quote of the Day: (from Litchard player @ Liam Barry) “It’s about time you retired now isn’t it?”
