Stephen Gould
Gouldy is the Vaders club captain and an ever-presence in the centre of midfield. He doesn’t stop running for the team and is probably the fittest player in the squad. Not the most vocal captain, but his tenacity in tackling and desire to win and retain the ball is an influence to the rest of the players.
He is a box-to-box midfielder and can do just about everything on the pitch. He has great passing, good vision, a very good shot and even challenges immensely in the air despite his height deficiency. He has tremendous determination and has even shown a fierce competitive side which has seen him pick up a few cards, including a red (but only because he had grass in his mouth, right Gould?).
Fast, fit and composed on the ball, Gouldy’s consistent performances gained him the captaincy by popular vote throughout the squad and he hasn’t let us down. He scores a fair share of goals too, and has even scored a couple of headers. Look for him topping the appearance, assists and maybe even Man of the Match charts at the end of the season.
